Reflecting on a First Flight
“At long last, my inaugural flight as an AFNE mission pilot took place this week flying Terry H. and her daughter from Burlington, VT to Bedford, MA. Terry worked and waited for months to arrange a medical appointment in Boston, and she was delighted the day had finally arrived. Our flight in a Cirrus SR22 went as planned, flying among the clouds in surprisingly smooth air. As we neared Bedford, it was soaked in low clouds, but our ILS approach allowed a safe arrival in time for Terry’s appointment. I feel grateful for opportunities like this. Flying is my passion, and flying for an unbeatable cause like this is a piece of heaven.” ~ Spencer G.
