Nantucket Patient Flown to Boston by Angel Flight NE Pilot

Tom of Nantucket Flown by Angel Flight NE Pilot

We’d love for you to take a moment to meet Tom M. – an Angel Flight NE Patient from Nantucket that has utilized our free air transportation and ground services since 2012! Tom has travelled to Beth Israel in Boston from Nantucket for a variety of treatments to address a diagnosis of a rare diseases including his most recent trip to receive an implant of a pacemaker.

As you can see from the picture above, Tom M. had the pleasure of flying with one of our frequent flyer pilots, Tom L., who brought along his co-pilot dog Rocket to assist with the mission!

Angel Flight NE Volunteer Pilot – Tom

Tom L. has been an instrumental part of Angel Flight NE’s 26 year mission since he joined. He is one of our long-term pilots that have been a part of the team since 1996! Tom celebrated his 25th anniversary of flying for Angel Flight NE last year – what an accomplishment! We are forever grateful for the support of our amazing volunteer pilots!

Since his first flight on April 19, 2012, we have coordinated over 100 flights for Tom M. to travel safely and efficiently to Beth Israel in Boston from Nantucket. We have also coordinated nearly 40 Earth Angel Rides, 5 Ground Support Rides provided by Ford, 15 Donated Flights from Cape Air & 3 ground transportation arrangements made possible with the support of the Alexion Charitable Foundation.

The Mission of Angel Flight NE

Mission/Flight requests – like Tom’s – happen daily and we are privileged to have the opportunity to not only fly patients and accompanying family members but also deeply care for all who turn to us for help during very difficult times in their lives. As with all of our patients, we are here for Tom for as long and as often as he needs our help and to ensure the best possible outcome.

Thank You and God Bless You for your support and belief in our healing mission. With your help and belief in our mission, we can ensure that distance is never an obstacle for patients, like Tom.  Entering our 26th year of service, we humbly continue to provide our services to children and adults who need to access life-saving medical care before, during & after treatment.

Warmest regards,

Fr. Larry & the AFNE Staff
