Wings of Support for Our Military
Since our founding in 1996, Angels for Armed Forces® has remained steadfast in its mission to support those who have served our country. We recognize that the transition from military to civilian life, or navigating a complex healthcare system, can present significant logistical and financial hurdles. To date, we have proudly coordinated 20,000 free flights for active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families, ensuring that no hero is left grounded when they need to be in the air.
Our program provides a vital lifeline for those needing to travel for medical treatment, diagnosis, and specialized healthcare services. However, our support extends far beyond the clinical. We understand that recovery and transition are holistic processes, which is why we also facilitate flights for:
- Professional Retraining: Helping veterans reach the locations they need to learn new skills and launch second careers.
- Humanitarian Needs: Assisting with relocation and critical support services during times of transition.
- Emotional Support: Providing travel for family members to visit injured service members or for veterans to attend specialized support camps and retreats.
Driven by Volunteer Excellence
Our organization’s heart is our network of volunteer pilots. These dedicated individuals—many of whom are veterans themselves—share not only a love of aviation but also a profound commitment to their fellow service members. These pilots donate 100% of the costs, including their time, their private aircraft, and all flight expenses. They fly not for recognition, but to give back to the community that has sacrificed so much for our freedom.

We believe supporting our veterans is a collective responsibility. To maximize our reach and impact, Angels for Armed Forces® works closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs, professional social workers, local civic groups, and the USO. Together, we ensure that every service member we assist receives the comprehensive support they deserve.

Meet Eric
Veteran Supported thru Angels for Armed Forces Program
Eric from Eagle Lake, ME first contacted Angel Flight NE in early 2020 – during the height of the pandemic. Our wonderful pilot, John S. flew him safely from Presque Isle, ME to Mass General in Boston, MA for help with a traumatic leg injury. Recently, Eric has had to travel for specialized treatment once again – this time with his beloved service dog, Reba!
