Living in a rural area like Aroostook County often means that when it comes to getting many types of medical treatment, folks need to travel large distances. And that’s not always the easiest thing. Angel Flight Northeast is a nonprofit organization that’s helped many people get to where they need to go without asking for anything in return. And for that, county folks want to give back. Lemonade stand lifts Angel Flight

A wonderful appeared in the Scarborough Leader highlighting the 2012 3rd Annual Lemonade Stand organized by some wonderful young residents of a local neighborhood. On the afternoon of Thursday, July 19, five young residents of Woodfield Drive – Ashley O’Brien, 10, her sister Olivia O’Brien, 7, and their neighbors, Charlotte Spies, 10, Emma Spies, 13 and Emily Taggart, 14 – held their third annual lemonade stand to benefit Angel Flight Northeast."When patrons lined up at a lemonade stand at 26 Woodfield Drive in Scarborough, they knew their purchases wouldn’t just be a sweet summer treat, but a way to help countless children and adults all across New England.

In the Air with Angel Flight

The St. John Valley Times published a great piece in its February 8th edition.  For Herb and Patricia Albert, hopping on a small plane at the Presque Isle airport in the early morning hours is nothing new. Since 2003, the couple has made many flights into Tufts University and now to the Lahey Clinic, both located just outside of Boston, for treatment of Herb’s liver disease. All of those flights have been provided at no cost to the couple by Angel Flight NE, based out of Lawrence, MA.
