    • CNN's "Headline News"
    • NBC’s "The Today Show"
    • Boston's ABC, NBC and CBS affiliates.

  • Recipient of National Child Labor Committee's 1999 Special Lewis Hine Award. THE NCLC is a non-profit organization seeking "To promote the rights, dignity and well-being of children as they relate to work, working and education." The Lewis Hine Awards honor ten individuals for their unheralded volunteer or professional work that betters the lives of  America’s youth. The awards are the result of hundreds of nominations from the country’s governors, mayors, CEO’s and nonprofit leaders.

  • Recipient of "The Hero Among Us" awarded by the Boston Celtics and Boston Globe. "Heroes Among Us" is a program designed to honor and recognize members of society that stand tall in their commitment to community. The Celtics recognize an individual who has made a special contribution -- a "Hero Among Us" -- at every home game.

  • Named the 2010 Family Advocate of the Year by Boston Parents Paper. For more than 20 years, the Boston Parents Paper has honored the people and organizations who work quietly, steadfastly and often behind the scenes to help children and families in need. The Family Advocate Award celebrates those people and organizations that have been here, supporting families, researching and advocating for children’s needs, and strengthening their missions in a very public way over the years.

  • AFNE volunteer pilot honored as Community MVP by the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation. Richard Canastra, an Angel Flight Northeast volunteer pilot since 2005, was one of 20 individuals who were honored for exemplify leadership, dedication and a commitment to improving their communities through volunteerism.
