Inclement weather
along the East Coast couldn't keep everyone away from celebrating the 12th Annual
Angel Flight NE Fly-In on Saturday, October 3rd. Nearly 55 pilots and their guests from throughout the Northeast gathered flew into
Nantucket for a cookout, pilot awards and camaraderie.
The Fly-In
is an opportunity for Angel Flight NE to recognize and thank its many pilot
volunteers who donate so much to fulfilling Angel Flight’s mission. The Fly-In offers special recognition to
pilots who become Frequent Flyers by completing 12 flights in a year, and for
pilots who earn their “Wings” after completing 25, 50, 75 and 100 lifetime flights. Please visit the photo gallery.
AFNE Pilot and Board Member, Peter Ryan,
along with assistance from AFNE staff, recruited volunteers and sponsors for
this year’s affair. Susan Carpenter, a caterer on
the island, coordinated and recruited a large number of volunteers, including
hotel chefs, to handle the food preparation and service.
