$100,000+ technology platform upgrades makes a positive difference to AFNE’s mission

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – December 3, 2012 - Angel Flight Northeast is pleased to announce HP has donated more than $100,000 of technology upgrades.

"This wonderful investment from HP will go a long way in helping to support our mission," said Larry Camerlin, President of Angel Flight Northeast. “The technology upgrades will enable us to better serve our patients and provide our pilots with a more innovative technology platform to sign up for missions.”

While Angel Flight Northeast’s prior technology system served its purpose, it became apparent that the organization required updated equipment and more sophisticated capabilities to further assist with the organization’s mission / flight coordination activities. The equipment and technology upgrades provided by HP is enabling Angel Flight NE to be more efficient and better manage patient / mission coordination, as well as critical data such as patient health/medical-related information; patient and pilot records and various aviation-related materials in one centralized system.

“We are inspired by Angel Flight Northeast’s mission and pleased to provide the organization with technology that will strengthen their programs,“ said Randy Seidl, SVP & GM Enterprise Group, HP. “HP’s support of Angel Flight Northeast is an example of how HP makes a positive impact to what matters in companies and communities around the world.”

With HP’s generous support, Angel Flight Northeast has a more robust platform to support an increase in flight capacity without the need to add additional personnel. The new technology platform supporting the mission flight coordination process is reducing downtime, allowing for future enhancements, improving accuracy by eliminating numerous manual processes, improving the volunteer pilot’s experience and providing a more scalable technology platform for better efficiency to support the increase in demand for Angel Flight Northeast’s services for the immediate and longer-term.

About Angel Flight Northeast (AFNE)
Angel Flight Northeast was founded in 1996 to provide free flights to children and adults in need of critical medical care who do not have the resources to access other means of transportation.  Approximately 40% of AFNE’s patients are children suffering from life-threatening cancer, severe burns, or crippling diseases.  AFNE flies patients for as long and as often as they need to travel, with no limit on the number of flights provided.  AFNE also transports free of charge blood and organs for patients awaiting organ transplants.  For more information about Angel Flight Northeast, contact us at 978-794-6868 or visit our website at http://www.angelflightne.org/admin.php
