NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. August 14, 2013 -- Angel Flight Northeast, a nonprofit that coordinates free air transportation for patients to access life-saving medical care, has announced it has been presented with a proclamation by the New York State Legislature presented by Assemblyman Mark Butler and Mr. Jim Landrio to recognize its continued dedication in coordinating free air transportation for patients to access medical care.

During a reception held on Tuesday, August 13 at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown, New York, Larry Camerlin, Founder and President and Jim Cear, Chairman of the Board and Volunteer Pilot of Angel Flight Northeast, along with first responders from New York State, were honored for their heroic efforts both in the air and on the ground. More than 100 guests attended this reception to pay tribute to those who dedicate their lives to helping others in need.

"On behalf of the entire Angel Flight Northeast organization, I want to thank the New York State Legislature along with Assemblyman Butler and Mr. Landrio for recognizing the dedication of our volunteer pilots, earth angel volunteers and staff,” said Larry Camerlin, President of Angel Flight Northeast. “We are truly honored and also humbled by this recognition. Entering our 18th year of service, Angel Flight Northeast’s mission is to ensure distance is never a barrier to those who require access to life-saving medical care that is not readily available to them.”

“Angel Flight Northeast provides such compassion and care to the people of New York and throughout the Northeast that require medical service far away from their homes,” said Assemblyman Mark Butler. “The people involved do not charge for their service, in fact, the volunteers pay for all expenses related to the flights. This recognition is a way to honor Angel Flight Northeast and everyone involved in providing these free services to those in need.”

About Angel Flight Northeast

Angel Flight Northeast was founded in 1996 to provide free flights to children and adults in need of critical medical care who do not have the resources to access other means of transportation.  Approximately 40% of AFNE’s patients are children suffering from life-threatening cancer, severe burns, or crippling diseases.  AFNE flies patients for as long and as often as they need to travel, with no limit on the number of flights provided.  AFNE also transports free of charge blood and organs for patients awaiting organ transplants.  For more information about Angel Flight Northeast, contact us at 978-794-6868 or visit our website at .
