SIS Bank Corporators choose local charities
SANFORD, Maine — SIS Bank held its Annual Corporators Meeting in March, and three Corporators were chosen at random to select a charity to receive a $1,000 donation. David Ouellette selected the Sanford Food Pantry as his charity of choice, Allen Moulton designated Angel Flight Northeast and Patrice Aprile selected Goodall Hospital.
The nonprofit organizations expressed gratitude and said the donations come at an important time. The Sanford Food Pantry, for example, recently welcomed 20 new families.
Angel Flight Northeast, meanwhile, will use the unexpected funds to further its cause of providing free flights for patients who cannot afford them to hospitals from remote areas. In 2012 Angel Flight Northeast provided 3,748 free flights of hope and healing, of which 33% were Maine residents.
Aprile, who serves as Goodall Hospital’s President and CEO, said the hospital has an immediate need to pay for renovations to its cafeteria.
